For Titans, a prime time chance at progress

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Tonight for the Titans is about more than playing spoiler against the 6-7 Jets, who still hold faint playoff hopes.

It’s the Titans' lone appearance on Monday Night Football this season, and a team that’s been embarrassed too often for its owner could do a lot for itself with a win. Win this one and the season finale here against Jacksonville -- there is a trip to Green Bay sandwiched in between -- and the team can claim some end-of-year forward progress.

It could stop any thoughts owner Bud Adams has about changing course after just two years of Mike Munchak as his head coach.

Jake Locker has been a turnover machine lately at quarterback. If he can settle down and lead the forward progress, he too can give Adams something to look forward to instead of question.
