Arians is coach and assistant of the year

The postseason awards from the Pro Football Writers of America and Pro Football Weekly are out. John McClain of the Houston Chronicle has them. (The Pro Football Writers of America and PFW seem to be keeping them a secret rather than trumpeting them.)

Bruce Arians pulled off a double.

The Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator, who served as interim coach for 12 games and posted a 9-3 record, won both coach of the year and assistant coach of the year.

He deserves both.

Ryan Grigson is executive of the year for revamping the Colts roster.

J.J. Watt is defensive player of the year and an All-Pro defensive end along with the Miami Dolphins' Cameron Wake.

Duane Brown is an All-Pro tackle along with the Denver Broncos' Ryan Clady.

Al four of these guys deserve all the credit they are getting for very impressive performances this year. Watt and Brown can do even more to distinguish themselves when they lead the Houston Texans against the New England Patriots in a divisional round playoff game on Sunday.
