AFC South links: Flynn not headed to Jags

Houston Texans

The Texans will begin their voluntary offseason program in less than three weeks, and Nick Scurfield of the team's website has details.

Indianapolis Colts

General manager Ryan Grigson worked the phones with his former team to acquire fullback Stanley Havili from Philadelphia for defensive end Clifton Geathers. Phillip B. Wilson of the Indianapolis Star has the story.

Craig Kelley of the team's website continues the 2013 positional series with a look at the defensive line.

Jacksonville Jaguars

It's unlikely the Jaguars will trade for Seattle backup quarterback Matt Flynn, writes Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union. According to O'Halloran, the move would have been questionable because the Jaguars are committed to building through the draft, and Flynn’s contract carries salary-cap numbers of $7.25 million this year and $8.25 million in 2014.

Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com says the Jaguars will carry a lot of cap space into next season.

Tennessee Titans

New quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is an upgrade over the departed Matt Hasselbeck, writes David Climer of the Tennessean. Says Climer: Notice I didn’t say backup quarterback. Fitzpatrick may be exactly that in the near term, but let’s not fool ourselves. As we approach a crossroads season, everybody’s job is on the line. And that includes (starting quarterback) Jake Locker’s.
