Our plan with minicamps kicking off

Three of our four teams cap their offseason work with minicamps this week. The Titans' schedule is a week later than that of the Colts, Jaguars and Texans. Tennessee concludes OTAs this week, then holds its minicamp next week.

So here’s our plan while three teams are on the field the next three days:

The full staff of the AFC South blog -- yes, that’s me -- will fly to Jacksonville Tuesday morning for three days with the Jaguars.

Why Jacksonville? Well, the Texans typically treat minicamp as a chance for rookie and young player development. Most veterans of note won’t even take the field. The Colts have plenty of interesting storylines, but I was with them for minicamp a year ago.

The Jaguars have a lot going on. I’m looking forward to getting to know general manager Dave Caldwell, coach Gus Bradley and some of his staff. I hope to sit down with Paul Posluszny, Blaine Gabbert, Luke Joeckel, Denard Robinson and others.

And for those of you who may remember my attempt to catch Brett Kern’s punts a few years ago, there may be something involving me on the field for a bit in the works.

Provided Southwest treats me right, I’ll be in Jacksonville late Tuesday morning until Thursday late afternoon.

From there, I’ll do my best to monitor developments from camps in Houston and Indy and from OTAs in Nashville.

Please stay tuned.
