RTC: Indications are Jones-Drew is back

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Reading the coverage of the Jacksonville Jaguars heading into their final preseason game:

Maurice Jones-Drew has taken only 19 snaps in preseason games, but the Jaguars running back feels great and indications are that he is back from the Lisfranc injury in his left foot that cost him 10 games last season, Hayes Carlyon of the Florida Times-Union writes.

Undrafted rookie free agent Carson Tinker, who beat out Jeremy Cain to be the Jaguars' long-snapper, has written a book about his experience surviving the tornadoes that ravaged Tuscaloosa, Ala., in April 2011. Tinker's girlfriend was one of six Alabama students who died in the tornadoes. The book, titled "Tornados, Tragedies and Triumphs: Carson Tinker’s story" will be published next year, writes Vito Stellino of the Florida Times-Union.
