Indianapolis is making a run at another Super Bowl.
The city’s sports and civic leaders will announce Friday that they will bid to host the Super Bowl in 2018.
Indianapolis hosted the 2012 Super Bowl at Lucas Oil Stadium. The city got high marks for how well it hosted the event that ended with the New York Giants beating the New England Patriots. The city was helped by above-average weather.
Indianapolis mayor Greg Ballard, Colts owner Jim Irsay and Indiana Gov. Mike Pence are expected to be in attendance for the announcement Friday.
Denver and Minneapolis will also bid for the Super Bowl.
