Power Rankings: No. 3 Indianapolis Colts

A weekly examination of the Colts’ ESPN.com Power Ranking:

Preseason: 10 | Last week: 2 | ESPN.com Power Ranking since 2002

Colts coach Chuck Pagano talked Monday about how his team should avoid reading meida clippings and power rankings so that they don’t get full of themselves because of their 5-2 to start this season. This is a week they should definitely avoid looking at the rankings, although for a different reason. The Colts didn’t play last week, but that didn't stop them from falling one spot to No. 3. The Broncos, who lost to the Colts on Oct. 20, slid into the No. 2 spot behind undefeated Kansas City after they beat the Washington Redskins this past weekend. The Colts have a chance to move ahead of the Broncos next week because they play at Houston, which is No. 28 this week, while Denver has its bye. The Chiefs, who the Colts play Dec. 22, are on the road at Buffalo.
