Reading the coverage of the Houston Texans...
This summer Andrew Perloff of Sports Illustrated wrote a very comprehensive piece about the influx of quarterbacks grown in the state of Texas. He revisits some of that in a piece this week about Case Keenum, one of those quarterbacks. Keenum offers this about why Texas quarterbacks are successful: "A lot of quarterbacks out of Texas play with chips on their shoulder," Keenum said. "It's how you grow up and how you approach the game of football. You make it so important to give yourself an edge. You have to compete." He's certainly had a lot of material with which to build that chip.
And speaking of Texas quarterbacks, the Houston Chronicle compiled this gallery of the best quarterbacks in Houston history. Some in color, some in black-and-white. Some high school kids, some grown up pros.
Deji Karim is happy to be back with the Texans, writes Dave Zangaro of CSNHouston.com. He also hopes that he'll be able to make an impact against the Colts, the team he played for last season.
