For Texans, third straight win would be a first

The Houston Texans have never won three games in a row.

They've won two in a row seven times, including four out of five games in September and October of 2004.

Sunday, against winless Cincinnati, Houston can break new ground and get to 3-4 for the season with a third consecutive win.

"We have to get that third win, we have to work for it," tight end Owen Daniels told Houston media. "Cincinnati is a dangerous team. They're not an 0-7 team. They've played a lot better than that. If we're able to do that, bounce back from the hole we dug ourselves into early in the year and kick it within one game of .500, that would be huge for us at this point."

A loss to the hapless Bengals, who've been outscored 182-98, would be a big setback.

Of Houston's seven previous chances at a three-game win streak, one ended the season. The others were followed by losses of six, 10, 23, six, 18 and eight points.
