After the Titans' 47-7 win Sunday against the St. Louis Rams, I heard from Matt Wagner via Facebook.
He asked: “The Titans had that 59-0 game against the Pats, then won by 40. Are they the only team to both win and lose a game by 40 or more in the same season? Just curious.”
According to Elias, only two other teams since the merger in 1970 have done it:
The Green Bay Packers beat New Orleans 52-3 on Oct. 9, 2005, and lost to Baltimore 48-3 on Dec. 19, 2005.
The Dallas Cowboys lost to Minnesota 54-13 on Oct. 18, 1970, and beat Houston 52-10 on Dec. 20, 1970.
