ESPN Stats & Information has selected the best draft class for every team in the league and has them squaring off tournament-style in a poll. Argue with the draft classes and rankings all you like, but they were selected using this formula.
Thus, Bruce Matthews' 14 Pro Bowls just about single-handedly make his Houston Oilers draft class rank as the best in the Titans' franchise history.
Here's a rundown of how the AFC South fares in the initial field of 32 and an opportunity to vote in a poll pitting them against another seed:
The Indianapolis Colts earned the No. 18 seed based on their 1969 draft as the Baltimore Colts, where linebacker Ted Hendricks went on to be part of four Super Bowl winners and receiver Eddie Hinton and running back Sam Havrilak factored in.
The Houston Texans earned the 32nd and final seed based on their 2006 draft which already includes three Pro Bowlers: defensive end Mario Williams, linebacker DeMeco Ryans and tight end Owen Daniels. (Seems like a group with potential to rank much higher in another five or six years.)
