SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego Chargers' first defensive drive of the Ron Rivera era was not productive.
And it caused the boo birds to chirp loudly in San Diego.
The Kansas City Chiefs drove 95 yards to take a 7-0 lead after forcing San Diego to punt on its first drive. Kansas City quarterback Tyler Thigpen, who continues to look impressive, hit a wide open Mark Bradley for a 30-yard score to give the Chiefs a touchdown.
It capped a 12-play drive that took 7:08 off the clock. Chargers' fans booed loudly after the score.
This is Rivera's first game since he replaced Ted Cottrell as San Diego's defensive coordinator 12 days ago. The Chargers had a bye last week.
