Broncos add a safety

The Broncos signed safety Herana-Daze Jones on Wednesday. To make room for Jones, defensive tackle Josh Shaw was put on the injured reserve.

Jones is in his fourth season. He played three games with Cincinnati this season. He was waived by the Bengals on Nov. 4. He signed with the Bengals in 2005 from Indiana. He has played in 28 games and he was a special teams ace for the Bengals the past two years. He had a combined 37 tackles on special teams the past two seasons.

He will fill a special teams and backup safety role for Denver.
