Evening notes: Denver inks another pick

Cornerback Perrish Cox became the third draft pick Denver has signed after he inked a deal with the Broncos Wednesday. A fifth-round pick from Oklahoma State, Cox is expected to vie for time as a return man during his rookie season.

Second-round pick Dexter McCluster has been impressive so far in Kansas City. I really think this running back/receiver/returner is going to work out well for the Chiefs.

Second-year Oakland receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey continued to look good at Oakland’s organized team activities session Wednesday. He has come on strong in recent weeks. Still, the No. 7 overall pick in the 2009 draft has to prove it when the season starts after a disappointing rookie season.

Former two-way player Spencer Larsen is currently only working as a fullback in Denver. He had also played linebacker. He started on offense and on defense in a game as a rookie in 2008.
