The Kansas City Chiefs have signed their first draft choice.
The team has inked fifth-round pick Kendrick Lewis. It’s an important signing for Kansas City.
The safety from Mississippi has a chance to start for the Chiefs. He has been very impressive in offseason workouts and Kansas City will give him a chance to establish himself early alongside fellow safety Eric Berry, who was the No. 5 overall pick.
With Lewis and Berry at safety, along with solid, young cornerbacks Brandon Flowers and Brandon Carr and second-round pick Javier Arenas (who is expected to be the nickel cornerback), Kansas City is thrilled with its new secondary for now and for the future.
