The Chiefs announced Monday that tight end Tony Gonzalez won the team's MVP award and cornerback Maurice Leggett was named the team's rookie of the year.

Gonzalez, 32, had one of his best seasons of his 12-year career. He had 96 catches for 1,058 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Leggett stood out as an undrafted free agent. The Chiefs were loaded with rookies, including two first-round picks, but Leggett turned into an impact playmaker on defense and on special teams.
