McCluster in, Merriman out

KANSAS CITY -- Kansas City rookie running back/receiver Dexter McCluster is active for Kansas City and he is expected to play Monday night against San Diego.

McCluster, a second-round pick was listed as doubtful on the injury report Saturday with an unspecified illness.

Right tackle Ryan O'Callaghan is inactive and Barry Richardson is expected to replace him.

As expected, San Diego linebacker Shawne Merriman is inactive with an Achilles problem. He has practiced very little since being hurt in mid-August. Larry English is expected to start at linebacker. Backup quarterback Billy Volek is active. He missed much of the past week with a knee injury.

Rookie Cam Thomas is among San Diego’s inactive players.
