Charles just tied the game at 7-7 late in the first quarter with a brilliant 56-yard touchdown run. He made two ridiculous cuts on San Diego defenders in a rain storm on his way to the end zone.
Folks, we may be seeing the start of something very special in Kansas City. Charles can make moves and has the speed that few NFL running backs have. He showed his potential last season when he ran for 1,120 yards and averaged 5.9 yards per carry.
This game could be won on the ground. It is raining hard and it is very windy. It may be difficult to throw the ball consistently if this weather continues.
San Diego rookie running back Ryan Mathews has been decent. He has 30 yards on eight carries.
