Sound off: Hall of Fame version

Posted by ESPN.com's Bill Williamson

Here's this week's "sound off" question: Are the two AFC West Hall of Fame finalists, Shannon Sharpe and Derrick Thomas, worthy of election?

Give us your thoughts. Both players are finalists this year. The voting will be conducted Saturday. Sharpe was a superstar tight end for the Denver Broncos and the late Derrick Thomas was a star pass-rushing linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs.

I'm looking for football reasons why both should or should not get voted in. I realize there are few things that trigger strong feelings of fans of teams more than one of their stars being considered for the Hall of Fame. I want you to take your heart out of the equation. Let me know if you think Sharpe and Thomas' careers were worthy of enshrinement in the Hall of Fame, which is designed to honor the elite of the elite.

Hit my mailbag with your thoughts. I will post some of your responses later in the week. Thanks, as always, for your participation.
