Chargers have running Waters back

The banged up San Diego Chargers got some relief Monday when linebacker Anthony Waters returned to practice after having minor knee surgery.

This is significant for the Chargers. Waters will battle Derek Smith to play in Stephen Cooper's spot when Cooper serves an NFL suspension for the first four games of the season.

The Chargers are very high on Waters and believe he can be a standout player. Getting him back on the field is a big move as the team prepares for preseason action, which begins Saturday against visiting Dallas.
