We examined on Friday whether Denver coach Josh McDaniels should be on the hot seat.
The Broncos are coming off a 45-point home loss to the Raiders and are 4-13 under McDaniels after starting his first season 6-0.
We concluded that because Denver ownership likes McDaniels and coaches usually get three years to build their program, McDaniels is likely safe unless there’s a few more performances like the one against Oakland.
Sunday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter agreed. He reasoned that since former coach Mike Shanahan is being paid through next year in Denver, there’s little chance Denver ownership will fire McDaniels with him still on the books.
Makes total sense. While McDaniels’ job security is a hot topic in Denver, he is very likely not going anywhere for a while.
