Alabama offensive tackle Andre Smith's major tumble down NFL draft boards may have continued Wednesday.
The troubled Smith had a pedestrian workout Wednesday at the school's Pro Day, which could further slide him down the draft board.
Smith was suspended for Alabama's bowl game and he reportedly had poor interviews with teams at the combine. He subsequently left the combine early.
Smith was considered a potential No. 1 overall pick in December. Now he could tumble hard.
Oakland and Kansas City both could use a tackle, and even San Diego could consider Smith as a right tackle. He will very likely be off all three of these teams' boards in the first round, but if Smith were to slip into the second round, he'd be a good value pick for the Raiders. Kansas City traded its second-round pick for Matt Cassel and Mike Vrabel.
If Oakland can get Smith in the second round, it could be a steal. The Smith saga is clearly something to watch as the April 25-26 draft approaches.
