DANA POINT, Calif. -- The NFL on Monday announced seven games for the 2009 season. Three of the games involve AFC West teams.
The game is part of a league celebration of the 50th anniversary of American Football League teams. Buffalo and New England play in the earlier game. All four teams are expected to wear throwback AFL uniforms in the game. This is the second straight year Oakland will host a game on Monday night to start the season. Denver won, 41-14, at Oakland last season.
Oakland will also play at Dallas on Thanksgiving Day. The game starts at 4:15 p.m. ET. Denver will host the New York Giants on Thanksgiving night. The game starts at 8:20 p.m. ET. The Broncos have tried to get the Thanksgiving night game on NFL Network since the league started having a third game on the holiday in 2006.
