Most interesting AFC West games of 2009

After examining the 2009 NFL schedule, several games stick out to me. Here is a look at some of the more interesting matchups involving AFC West teams:

9-14, San Diego at Oakland: This is the Raiders' third Monday night game to start the season at home in the past four seasons. Oakland has been outscored 68-14 in the first two games.
10-4, San Diego at Pittsburgh: This will be San Diego's third trip to Pittsburgh in less than 11 months. The Steelers knocked San Diego out of the playoffs last season. The Chargers need to show the Steelers they can beat them.

10-11, New England at Denver: New Denver coach Josh McDaniels will face the team he was the offensive coordinator for. New England coach Bill Belichick has had some interesting battles with former assistants. This game should be a lot of fun.

10-19, Denver at San Diego: The last time we saw this matchup, San Diego whipped the Broncos by 31 points to win the AFC West.

11-8, San Diego at New York Giants: It will be Philip Rivers against Eli Manning for the first time. When the two teams met in 2005, Rivers wasn't a starter.

11-26, Oakland at Dallas: It's going to be cool to see the Silver and Black play in a rare Turkey Day game.

12-6, Denver at Kansas City: McDaniels wanted Matt Cassel. Now, he'll see him -- in a Kansas City uniform.

12-25, San Diego at Tennessee: This Christmas night game could have serious AFC playoff ramifications.

12-27, Denver at Philadelphia: Brian Dawkins' homecoming should be emotional.
