Sanchez pleased with workout for Broncos

MISSION VIEJO, Calif. -- It was close to 100 degrees on the field at Mission Viejo High School on Tuesday when USC quarterback Mark Sanchez started throwing the football around for Broncos GM Brian Xanders and offensive coordinator Mike McCoy. Absent was Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels, who stayed back in Denver with migraines.

Sanchez and the Broncos' personnel completed close to three hours of film study and board work, where Sanchez broke down USC plays, what he did and why and then was asked to break down Broncos plays.

Then the Broncos asked him to execute the plays on the field with Sanchez's roving band of receivers, who came from all over Southern California to help him out (and perhaps catch the eye of someone in the NFL who might be looking).

Sanchez threw 80 or 90 balls, according to his brother, Nick, and was thrilled with how he performed in the workout.

It was Sanchez's last workout before finding a new team. He'll do some marketing work in the next few days and then settle in at his agent's office to watch his future unfold.
