Here are a couple fast Broncos' notes after their afternoon practice in a week that will be highlighted with joint workouts with the visiting Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday and Thursday.
New strongside linebacker Boss Bailey will be out for at least two weeks and likely for the rest of the preseason with a high ankle sprain. The team is hopeful he will be able to play Sept. 8 in the team's season opener at Oakland, on 'Monday Night Football'.
Reserve linebacker Louis Green will likely return next week. He had a major scare Saturday night in Houston when he had to be taken off the field on a backboard.
Guard Montrae Holland practiced Monday after sitting out the first two-plus weeks of camp because he was more than 20 pounds overweight. Holland, the starting right guard last season, is now behind Chris Kuper. If Holland can shake off the rust and second-year player Ryan Harris struggles at right tackle, Kuper could move to right tackle and Holland slides to his old guard spot. Harris committed four penalties against Houston in his first start.
