I admit it. I am guilty of misdemeanor post theft.
We are going to look at one critical position for each AFC West team and the corresponding coach.
We'll start with Denver. Coach on the spot: Offensive coordinator and quarterback coach Mike McCoy.
The Broncos have problem areas on defense, but if the quarterback doesn't perform well in Denver, the team will have no chance to succeed.
Denver's likely quarterback will be Kyle Orton, who was part of the Jay Cutler trade with Chicago. McCoy will have to coach up Orton if the Denver offense is going to be anything like the group that was led by Cutler last year. Cutler, in his second full season as Denver's starting quarterback, engineered the No. 2 overall offense in the league.
Denver coach Josh McDaniels believes Orton will fit into his new system. It will be up to McCoy to teach the system and make sure Orton can keep Denver's offense -- which will rely on the running of top draft pick Knowshon Moreno -- among the most effective in the league.
