Weekend mail call:
Andrew from Lawrence, Kan., wants to know what 2011 draft prospect will end up being the best player of this class.
Bill Williamson: Nice question, Andrew. I think the best player in the long term will be LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson. He has an amazing blend of size and speed. Plus, he can flat play. He has wonderful ball skills. He’s going to be special. Here are some other can’t-miss prospects in my mind: Alabama defensive tackle Marcell Dareus, Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert, Texas A&M DE Von Miller, Georgia receiver A.J. Green and Alabama receiver Julio Jones. I think many perennial Pro Bowl players will come out of this class.
BW: I have a feeling Watt will be gone. Clayborn and Kerrigan should be available ,and they could even be there a few spots later if the San Diego Chargers wanted to trade down. The Chargers are looking at defensive end and outside linebackers. This is a strong class, so San Diego should be very happy at the end of the first round.
Keith from Salt Lake City wants to know what is Michael Bush's future with the Raiders after being arrested for suspicion of drunken driving.
BW: I don’t think the arrest will have any major bearing on whether the Oakland Raiders will bring him back. It’s a serious offense, and it could cause Bush some problems, but I think Oakland wants him back and will try to keep him whether he is an unrestricted or a restricted free agent.
