Chris Simms worked out with the first-team offense Thursday in Denver. It is part of the plan. He will get time along with Kyle Orton, who is expected to win the job, during the offseason.

However, expect the Broncos' coaching staff to settle on one guy fairly early in the preseason. Again, it would be a pretty large upset if Orton doesn't emerge as Jay Cutler's replacement.

  • New Pro Football Hall of Famer Rod Woodson believes Al Davis could use some help in Oakland. There's no doubt about it. Last year, Davis hinted that he would try to add to the front office. I heard rumblings this offseason that Davis was making some calls about some prospective additions. Still, there hasn't been an announcement of a major addition to Oakland's front office.
