Peyton Hillis is showing his worth.

My take: Hillis is the type of player who impresses his coaches once they see him on the field. Hillis can run, block and catch. He is a multi-faceted weapon for Denver. New Broncos coach Josh McDaniels is likely devising new ways for Hillis to help him every day.

Kansas City

The flamboyant Dwayne Bowe has toned it down.

My take: Players in Kansas City already understand that new coach Todd Haley is a no-nonsense guy. Haley doesn't want to see showboating, especially in practice. With Bowe toning down his act, it shows that he is buying into the Haley regime. That is a good thing, because both men can help each other's careers.

Darrius Heyward-Bey and Louis Murphy are expected to be ready for this week's OTA.

My take: That's a good thing for both the players and the Raiders. Oakland is in need of receiver help and these two draft picks need to make a fast impact. The extra work this week will be very valuable.
