Campbell talks about Raiders' East camp

Oakland quarterback Jason Campbell told NFL.com that he expects 25-30 Oakland players to be in Atlanta next week for workouts organized by Campbell and defensive lineman Richard Seymour.

"We could have had more," Campbell said, "but the problem is we have something like 25 guys who are free agents, and a lot of them don't know if they're going to be restricted or unrestricted, and those guys don't want to risk anything, and it sounds like they'll just chill."

Still, a week with half the team should help the Raiders in this strange offseason.

In other AFC West notes Monday night:

  • NFL.com rated the Raiders’ Oct. 10 win over San Diego as the 20th best game of the 2010 season. I know it was one of the best games I attended last season.

  • The Kansas City Star looks at the future of guard Brian Waters and linebacker Mike Vrabel, who are both aging and active in the NFLPA’s fight against the owners. I think if either player doesn’t return, it will be because of age, not the labor dispute. Anyway, I fully expect Waters back in 2011 and I think the Chiefs would like Vrabel back for one more season in a limited role.
