AFC West notes

The man responsible for the Denver Broncos’ Sypgate scandal last season has landed at his alma mater.

  • The Syracuse football program has hired Steve Scarnecchia as its new video director. He was fired last season after the NFL found him guilty of videotaping a San Francisco 49ers’ walk-through practice in London in October. The Broncos and coach Josh McDaniels (the league said McDaniels was not aware that Scarnecchia filmed the practice) were fined. McDaniels was fired weeks later.

  • Oakland coach Hue Jackson talks about his team in a Bay Area radio interview. As always, Jackson is very upbeat about his club.

  • The Chiefs’ rookie class is anxious to officially becoming Chiefs. In the meantime, several joined a special effort with the club.
