Here are some areas the Denver Broncos need to focus on after a 17-10 victory at Kansas City:
Recap: Denver has won back-to-back games for the first time in 29 games. Denver beat the Chiefs to give the Raiders control of the AFC West at 5-4. Denver, Kansas City and San Diego are all 4-5.
Biggest area to fix: It’s clear the Broncos need to throw the ball more effectively and more often. The Broncos passed the ball eight times and ran it 55 times Sunday. Quarterback Tim Tebow completed just two passes. Tebow is 3-1 as the team’s starter, but the Broncos will need to establish the pass.
Biggest area to build on: The Broncos rushed the passer well Sunday and had four sacks. Rookie linebacker Von Miller had 1.5 sacks and he now has eight on the season and four quarterback hits. A healthy Elvis Dumervil and Miller are establishing a strong pass rush.
What to watch for: The Broncos have a quick turnaround. They host the New York Jets on Thursdays. The Broncos can make a statement with a win over the Jets.
