Recap: The Broncos came back to win again with Tim Tebow as their quarterback. Denver is 5-1 with Tebow this season and it is 2-0 in overtime with him. Tebow has beaten all three AFC West opponents on the road this season. It isn’t all Tebow, who set a post-merger NFL record with 22 carries Sunday. Denver is playing very well on defense as well.
Biggest area to fix: The Broncos are making plays when it counts, but Denver needs to still improve on third down and it has to get more consistent drives going throughout the game.
Biggest area to build on: The Broncos are playing inspired football on defense. Denver is benefitting from the offense controlling the clock with the run, but the defense is also setting the tone with big plays. Credit head coach John Fox and defensive coordinator Dennis Allen for engineering this defensive turnaround. Denver was 32nd in the NFL in almost every major defensive category in 2010.
What to watch for: The Broncos play at the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. This is a winnable game for a team that has a chance in both the AFC West and in the AFC Wild Card race. Denver is a game off the pace in each race. That seemed impossible six weeks ago.
