Monday night will be special for the Ellison family of Inglewood, Ca. In the early game, Keith Ellison will start for the Buffalo Bills against New England. In the night cap, rookie safety Kevin Ellison will play for the San Diego Chargers at Oakland.

San Diego tackle Marcus McNeill was listed as probable with a hand injury. Oakland running back Justin Fargas is listed as questionable with a hamstring injury.

The Chiefs are reportedly $7 million under the minimum spending line. If the Chiefs don’t reach the minimum, the difference will be split between all the players who were with the team since the beginning of training camp. The Chiefs may have difficulty getting to the limit. They can extend a few players to get there and maybe add a couple of players off the street. But $7 million may be difficult to spend at this point of the season.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Jeff Garcia asked to be released from the Raiders. It was clear Garcia knew he had no chance of supplanting JaMarcus Russell as the starting quarterback, so he cut his losses. The only chance Garcia will get a starting job at this point is if there is an injury somewhere in the league.

The Raiders don’t think Javon Walker is ready to play yet as he slowly recovers from a knee injury.
