Clayton: Jackson decision could take time

ESPN’s John Clayton reported on “SportsCenter” on Tuesday morning that Oakland coach Hue Jackson is not expected to be at the introductory news conference of new Oakland general manager Reggie McKenzie, but nothing should be read into his absence. Jackson simply has a prior appointment.

Clayton reported that McKenzie is expected to review Jackson’s performance for the next week or so. Clayton reports that the odds favor Jackson staying in Oakland, but a decision has not been made. Expect Jackson’s future to dominate questions during McKenize’s news conference. I still get the feeling Jackson will end up being retained.

A CSNBayArea.com report says Jackson is safe and he will meet with McKenzie prior to the news conference.
