Dennis Allen will make his Oakland Raiders debut on Monday at 3 p.m. ET.
The team just issued a release stating that Allen’s press conference will be held at that time. The Raiders previously hadn’t announced anything about the team’s hire of the former Denver defensive coordinator. It was reported Tuesday evening that new Oakland general manager Reggie McKenzie hired Allen. Thursday, it was reported Allen signed a four-year deal with the Raiders. That is significant because the Raiders had recently been giving two-year deals to coaches.
Expect Allen’s press conference to focus on his philosophy, his plan for cutting down penalties (Oakland set an NFL record for penalties and penalty yardage in 2011), his thoughts of quarterback Carson Palmer and the rest of the roster moving forward and his progress of filling his coaching staff.
