Less than three weeks after he was a surprise cut in Kansas City, safety Bernard Pollard has found work.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Pollard has joined the Houston Texans. This seems like a good pairing. He reunites with secondary coach David Gibbs, who coached Pollard as part of Herm Edwards’ staff in Kansas City.
Pollard just didn’t fit in with the new Kansas City regime. The staff didn’t like Pollard’s lack of coverage skills, even though he could deliver big hits. Pollard is most remembered for hitting New England quarterback Tom Brady in the 2008 season opener on the play in which Brady was lost for the season.
The Chiefs reportedly shopped Pollard in the days leading up to cutting him.
