AFC West injury update

In addition to LaDainian Tomlinson being ruled out of Sunday’s game against Miami with an ankle injury, there are several players in the AFC West dealing with injuries.

Tomlinson’s teammate, linebacker Shawne Merriman, practiced fully Friday. He is listed as questionable to play against the Dolphins with a groin injury. It was the first time he practiced all week. If there is not a setback, expect Merriman to play. Defensive lineman Travis Johnson is out with a groin injury. He is expected to play some defensive tackle with Jamal Williams out for the season with a triceps injury.

Guard Louis Vasquez is doubtful with a knee injury. He didn’t play last week and since he didn’t practice all week, he’ll likely not play against Miami. Linebacker Kevin Burnett was listed as questionable with a knee injury after he was hurt in practice Friday. Burnett would be a significant loss if he can’t play. He is a playmaker.

In Denver, running back Knowshon Moreno was put on the injury list Friday. He is questionable with a groin injury. This is an injury situation to watch. Denver will need him at Oakland. Receiver Brandon Stokley is questionable with a thigh injury. He did not practice Friday.

In Oakland, return man Johnnie Lee Higgins practiced fully Friday and he is listed as probable. Defensive end Richard Seymour was put on the injury list with a knee injury. He did not practice Friday but he is listed as probable.

In Kansas City, receiver Dwayne Bowe is questionable to play at Philadelphia with a hamstring injury.
