Daboll-McCoy reunion? Don't count on it

There are reports that the Cleveland Browns would like to trade Colt McCoy.

Of course, that means I have received a lot of questions about if he would interest any of the teams in the AFC West. I don't think the AFC West is a great place for backup quarterbacks, and I don’t see any teams that would make a big run at McCoy.

I guess the most logical would be Kansas City because new offensive coordinator Brian Daboll was McCoy’s offensive coordinator in 2010 with the Browns. McCoy started eight games that season.

However, a Yahoo report from last November makes it difficult to think Daboll and McCoy would work together again. Apparently, Daboll was very hard on McCoy during his rookie season. So, I’d say it is highly doubtful Daboll would endorse the pursuit of McCoy to the Chiefs’ brass.

I don’t see a natural fit for McCoy in any other city. He’d probably be an upgrade over Charlie Whitehurst as Philip Rivers’ backup in San Diego. Yet, I really don’t see the Chargers being interested in him.
