Chiefs put hard hats on in Joplin

Several members of the Kansas City Chiefs organization traveled to tornado-ravaged Joplin, Mo., on Friday to continue to help the citizens of the devastated town.

In collaboration with Gov. Jay Nixon’s Joplin Challenge, many in the organization participated in a house-building project with the Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity. The Chiefs helped build five homes Friday.

More than 140 members of the organization participated in the event. The Chiefs have been heavily involved in the recovery efforts in Joplin since the devastating tornado of May 2011. To date, the club and its fans have raised more than $250,000 in support.

Kudos to the Chiefs for their fine work in this effort.
