Raiders need to blitz Rivers

The Oakland Raiders need to prove they can become a good pass-rushing team in multiple sets, especially with the salary-cap dumping of linebacker Kamerion Wimbley.

Oakland has a strong front four and it can create a good pass-rushing push. Monday night against San Diego on ESPN, the Raiders need to try to get a five-man pass-rush established.

According to ESPN Stats & Information, San Diego quarterback Philip Rivers struggled against five or more pass rushers last season. He was intercepted eight times when blitzed in 2011. So, it may behoove Oakland to try to establish a consistent blitz against Rivers.
