Courtesy of ESPN Stats & Information, here is one key statistic for each AFC West team heading into Week 15:
The Broncos are outscoring their opponents by 71 points (127-56) in the fourth quarter this season. It’s by far the biggest margin in the NFL this season. Since 2007, the only teams to outscore opponents by more than 70 points in the fourth quarter are the 2009 Saints (won Super Bowl) and 2007 Patriots (lost Super Bowl).
The Chiefs are 0-9 against the AFC this season. Every other team in the NFL has at least two wins against teams from its own conference. Overall, the Chiefs have lost 15 of their last 16 games against the AFC.
The Raiders have lost six straight games, but they may be getting the right medicine. They play the Chiefs on Sunday. The Raiders have won four of the past five games against Kansas City. They are looking for their first three-game win streak against Kansas City since winning five straight from 1999-2001.
The Chargers are 5-8 and have faint playoff hopes. But this is their time to shine. The Chargers are 1-1 in December this year, but have a 19-4 record in December games since 2007 when Norv Turner took over. Only the New England Patriots (22-1) have been better in December during that time period.
