The San Diego Chargers sold enough tickets to avoid a television blackout for Monday night’s game against Denver. The game will be shown locally.
There is concern in San Diego about the availability of linebacker Stephen Cooper. He missed his second straight day of practice Friday with a knee injury. The Chargers will need Cooper against Denver. He has 39 tackles. San Diego defensive lineman Travis Johnson is practicing and he looks like he is ready to return from a groin injury.
Denver running back Correll Buckhalter practiced fully again Friday and he looks like he will play Monday barring a setback. He didn’t play last week with an ankle injury.
Oakland owner Al Davis is preaching patience with quarterback JaMarcus Russell. Davis points out several successful NFL quarterbacks who struggled early before starring. The problem is, the Raiders preached patience regarding Russell before this season. It is time for him to start producing. It’s simple as that.
Kansas City tackle Branden Albert didn’t practice again Friday with an ankle injury and his playing status Sunday at Washington is in jeopardy.
