The Oakland Raiders moved down in the draft.
Oakland traded the No. 3 overall pick to Miami for picks Nos. 12 and 42. The Raiders now have a second-round pick, which is important.
But dipping nine picks from that high in the draft should net more. Again, the Raiders will get two players in the top 42 -- and this team needs talent. So there are positives.
But I would have liked to see Oakland get another draft choice in the deal, especially since the Dolphins have a surplus of picks. Houston cornerback D.J. Hayden could now be a prime target for the No. 12 selection.
