A weekly examination of the Chiefs' ESPN.com Power Ranking:
Preseason: 22 | Last Week: 1 | ESPN.com Power Ranking since 2002
While the Chiefs have played one of the league’s easiest schedules, it’s hard to argue with the results. They’re still standing as the NFL’s only unbeaten team, so it’s difficult to argue that they don’t deserve the No. 1 ranking.
The arguments won’t be necessary after Sunday night’s game against the Broncos in Denver. The 8-1 Broncos are ranked No. 2. A victory would only solidify the Chiefs’ standing as the top-rated team while a loss would cause a drop down past the Broncos, probably the Seattle Seahawks and perhaps other teams.
The 9-1 Seahawks, currently ranked third, play against the 2-7 Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
