Four players to watch

Denver, Knowshon Moreno, running back: This rookie needs to start playing well again Sunday at Washington. Moreno has struggled in recent weeks after starting the season off well. Moreno, who lost his starting job against Pittsburgh to Correll Buckhalter -- who began the season as the starter -- had just 3 yards on five carries in the game. Moreno has to help bring balance to Denver's offense with improved play.

Kansas City, Chris Chambers, receiver: Chambers gave Chiefs fans reason to be excited in his first game with Kansas City. Chambers had three catches for 70 yards, including two touchdown receptions in the fourth quarter. Chambers was cut by San Diego last week and claimed by Kansas City. It will be interesting to see what Chambers can do against the Raiders. Two weeks ago, in his final game as a Charger, he made the play of the game to beat the Raiders. Now, Chambers gets his third crack at Oakland in 10 weeks.

Oakland, Sebastian Janikowski, kicker: Janikowski is the Raiders’ best offensive weapon. He is having an excellent season. Janikowski has made all 12 of his field goal attempts this season. Oakland’s Week 2 win at Kansas City was very close, and this week’s game could be as well. If the Raiders are within striking distance late, they know Janikowski can come through.

San Diego, Antonio Gates, tight end: Gates is having another strong season, and he ended up playing a nice game in San Diego’s win at the Giants. But Gates had two drops in the game that could have really hurt the Chargers. Watch for Gates to bounce back and not have any trouble holding onto the ball Sunday against the Eagles. This is a pro who works at his craft.
