Mike Bell clears waivers

Running back Mike Bell has cleared waivers and is now free to sign with any NFL team. Denver put the 2006 rookie sensation on the waiver wire Tuesday.

Bell joins a crowded free agent running back group that includes Shaun Alexander, Ron Dayne and Cedric Benson. Bell could be attractive to teams as a backup option because he is just 25, he is healthy and does not have any off-field issues.

Bell, an undrafted free agent out of Arizona, had 677 yards and eight rushing touchdowns as a rookie. However, he was moved to tailback last year and rarely played.
