The Oakland Tribune is reporting that Trevor Scott, who has been a defensive end until he played linebacker at Dallas, will start at weakside linebacker and Thomas Howard will play on the strong side Sunday at Pittsburgh. Sam Williams will be out of the mix.
This is interesting because Scott, a second-year player, is a playmaker. He needs to be on the field. So, this move could give a spark to the Oakland defense.

Denver safety Brian Dawkins missed his second straight day of practice because of an ankle injury. Friday will be a key day in determining whether Dawkins will play at Kansas City.
Chiefs backup running back Kolby Smith did not practice Thursday after he was limited Wednesday. He has an ankle injury.
