The Chargers made a roster move Tuesday as they prepare to host an AFC divisional playoff game Jan. 17.
San Diego put backup linebacker James Holt on the injured reserve. He hurt his shoulder in a win over Washington on Sunday. The rookie free agent was playing well on special teams.
To replace Holt, San Diego signed veteran Dontarrious Thomas. He was last in the NFL with Minnesota in 2008. The Vikings' second-round pick in 2004 played in the UFL this fall. He will likely play on special teams in the playoffs.
